Synoptic situation
The artificial RGB which is produced by putting the HRVIS channel on red and green and complementing it with the information from IR10.8 on blue shows thick and highreaching iceclouds. At the later stage of the case studies as huge MCSs have developed the appearance of the anvils representing the thin cirrus shields can be seen very well.
