Synoptic situation
The IR image shows the the depression almost stationary just South of the Alps. Within the cyclone the cloud tops pictured before as bright in IR imagery are now easily detected as green. The highest level of convectivty is seen in the cells pictured as blue. These are the cells which are likely to produce hail.
