Synoptic situation
This RGB composite is very good for showing the upper level moisture and flow (water vapour channels) and the general cloudiness (in HRV as red colours). The animation clearly illustrates the westerly middle and upper tropospheric flow, and the quasi-stationary nature of the cloudiness east of the Apennines.
