Relative Humidity:
The field of relative humidity reveals similarities with and contradictions to the ideal situation: Although the windward and
Lee Cloudiness can be followed, there is high humidity also in other areas. Classically, these areas should be cloud free.
Divergence:
The field of divergence shows convergence in low layers in the windward area and some convergence at high levels in the Lee
area. This is in accordance with the classical model. However, there are also contradicting areas, especially the high
convergence in low layers in the northern part of the Alpine mountain chain.
Vertical Motion (Omega):
The field of Omega shows very intensive values. As with the other parameters, some features of a Foehn situation are
present: There is upward motion in the Stau area and sinking motion in the high levels immediately north of the mountain
chain. However, north of the mountain chain there is intensive upward motion in areas where it usually isn't found.
