Relative Humidity:
The whole area of the Occlusion shows high values of humidity. The VCS is through an area of convective cells; this can be seen in the IR signals as well as in the high values of humidity. apart from some unexpected substructures in the centre of the cross section, the isentropes show the typical trough of an Occlusion band.
Temperature Advection:
There is a large maximum of WA which is typical for an Occlusion cloud band. However this field also shows a deviation which is discussed in the key parameter chapter: the inclination of this field towards the southwest of the cloud band indicates that there is unexpected WA between the Cold Front and the Occlusion cloud band.
Divergence:
The vertical distribution of divergence shows a lot of convergence which reaches to higher levels in the area of the Occlusion boundaries; but there is is also convergence in the centre of the cloud spiral. This is quite typical for an Occlusion cloud band.
PVA:
PVA clearly shows a maximum at high levels which is typical in the ideal case; but in contrast, the maximum is shifted to the northeast. In addition, there is also a series of smaller maxima at lower levels, typically representing the low level pressure center.
